Terms of Service

Effective date: 11 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and jambi Inc., a company based in Ontario, Canada ("jambi", "we"). They cover the jambi app and website ("jambi"). By creating an account or using jambi, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use jambi.

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

2. Who can use jambi
  • You must be at least 13 years old.

  • If you're under the age of majority where you live (18 in Ontario), you need a parent's or guardian's permission.

3. Your account
  • You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. Your use of an Apple or Google account is also covered by Apple's or Google's own terms.

  • Use an email address you can read — we send sign-in and confirmation codes to it.

  • Keep your password and sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

  • One person per account. Don't share, sell or transfer your account.

4. Usernames
  • Your username (your @handle) is unique and public. You can change it once every 30 days; your old username is held for 30 days before anyone else can take it.

  • Some usernames are reserved, and we may change a username that breaks these terms — for example, one that impersonates someone or is offensive.

5. Rules for using jambi

jambi is a community, and we have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Don't:

  • use a username, display name or profile picture that is offensive, hateful, sexual, violent, harassing or illegal, or that impersonates another person or brand;

  • post anyone else's private information;

  • use fake accounts, bots or other tricks to manipulate ratings, scores or rankings;

  • copy jambi's data in bulk, or access jambi with automated tools, without our permission;

  • disrupt, attack or overload jambi, or try to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours;

  • reverse-engineer, copy or redistribute the app's software;

  • use jambi for anything unlawful.

To report something that breaks these rules, email support@jambi.io. We may remove content, change usernames, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

6. Your content
  • You own your content — your ratings, scores, rankings, library, username, display name and profile picture.

  • To run jambi, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, display and process your content: for example, to show your profile and ratings to other jambi users, and to include your ratings in community features such as album averages and rankings.

  • When you delete your account, this permission ends for your username, display name and profile picture. It continues for your ratings only as part of jambi's community statistics, where they are no longer linked to anything that identifies you.

7. jambi's content and music information
  • The jambi app, its design, software, logo and rating system belong to jambi Inc. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use jambi for your own, non-commercial use, under these terms.

  • Music information and images in jambi — such as artist and album details, album artwork and artist photos — come from third-party sources, including MusicBrainz (musicbrainz.org) and fanart.tv, and belong to their respective owners. They are shown for your personal use within jambi, and we can't guarantee they're complete or accurate.

  • jambi Pro. Some features may be offered as a paid subscription. If we offer one, the price and terms will be shown before you buy, and purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Help & Support → Delete My Account, or by emailing support@jambi.io. When you delete your account, we remove your email address, username, display name, profile picture and password, and disconnect Sign in with Apple and Google. Your ratings remain part of jambi's community statistics, no longer linked to anything that identifies you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. Suspending or closing accounts

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we're required to by law, or to protect jambi or its users. You can stop using jambi at any time.

10. Disclaimers

jambi is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running well, but we don't guarantee that it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted, or that music information in it is accurate. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, jambi Inc. isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of jambi. Our total liability for any claim relating to jambi is limited to the greater of CAD $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

12. Apple App Store and Google Play

If you downloaded jambi from Apple's App Store:

  • These terms are between you and jambi Inc. only, not Apple. jambi Inc., not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

  • If the app fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.

  • jambi Inc., not Apple, is responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app breaks a law or regulation, consumer-protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone else's intellectual property.

  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded jambi from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your download and any purchases.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.

14. Changes to these terms

When we update these terms, we'll change the effective date above. If the changes are significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using jambi after that, you accept the new terms; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
